2027 Student Showcase

The Student Showcase Exhibition celebrates the creativity, passion, and talent of East County’s student artists. This show presents the next generation of art makers — students who are pushing boundaries and experimenting with unconventional ideas.

GALA is looking for submissions across all media: painting, drawing, mixed media, photography, digital art, sculpture, pottery, glass, and other 3D works. Let your artistry, imagination, and curiosity inspire you! Students in the East County school districts are invited to participate in this great opportunity to showcase your creative endeavors.

Please note that GALA has a limited supply of frames that can be borrowed to present your work in. They are in the following sizes: 12x16, 12x18, 16x20, and 14x14. • Call for student artists grades 6th-12th in Gresham and surrounding areas to submit original artwork.

• Themes: To welcome our diverse community with a family-friendly exhibition, all submissions must remain free of nudity, sexual content or divisive themes, as outlined in the Understanding Your Audience in a Multi-Use Gallery Space guide under the Call to Artists dropdown. 

• Commission: GALA retains a 20% commission on all sales.

• Originality: Work must be entirely your own, created within the last year. No copyrighted or step out class-based pieces. No paint-by-number project.

• Presentation: Artwork must be clean, flawless, and ready to hang/display according to GALA standards. Unframed 2D works must have a proper hanging device on the back.

• Print the Entry Tags and attach to the back of each art work.

• Artwork must remain at the exhibition venue for the entire duration of the show.

• GALA reserves the right to refuse artwork for display if it does not match the submitted image or fails to meet the hanging requirements.

• Artists must deliver and pick up their pieces during the published hours. If a schedule conflict arises, artists need to make prior arrangements with the curator team. GALA is NOT liable for artwork that is not picked on the specified date and time.

• Acceptable media and Requirements: This show accepts a wide range of media, including ceramics, digital art, drawing, fiber, glass, metalwork, mixed media, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and wood. 2D and 3D work are all welcome.

• For reproducible works (i.e. computer generated art, digitally altered photos, and Giclée prints), media must clearly be labeled as such. 

• Prints of original artwork, including photos, must be signed and numbered as part of a limited edition. Photography and prints must meet accepted archival standards.

• The artist grants GALA permission to use submitted photos for marketing, promotion, and display in the online gallery for accepted works.
